Nagaon beach is amongst the most popular beaches in Alibaug. Nagaon beach is a vast expanse of flat beach with gentle waves in the back drop of 'suru' trees. Nagaon is also a popular destination for water sports in Alibaug. Nagaon extends on to Akshi to its north which is another secluded beach.
Nagaon is an ideal place to stay to explore this region of Konkan. At just about 8 kms from Alibaug town Nagaon is located on the way to Murud Janjira from Alibaug. Nagaon however is not all about just beaches Phansad wild life sanctuary is under an hours drive from Nagaon enroute Murud.

Nagaon is sequestered by two historic sea forts. Colaba fort is located off the Alibaug beach about 8 kms from Nagaon to its north and Murud Janjira is located to its south about 45 kms from Nagaon. Revdanda fort and Korlai forts are two more forts located very close to Nagaon on the way to Murud.
Birla mandir built atop a hillock in Salaav probably is the most popular temple near Nagaon. Aarti at the Birla mandir is performed at at 9.00 am and 7.00 pm everyday. Rameshwar temple in Revdanda and Siddhivinayak temple in Nandgaon to its south are two more revered temples in the region
